
AUSTIN, Texas - Classical 89.5, KMFA announces the appointment of Jack Allen as new General Manager. After serving an interim role since February, the KMFA board officially named Jack Allen General Manager of Classical 89.5 on Monday, May 24th, 2005.
Board Chairman, Frank Bash, said, "The KMFA Board of Directors was pleased to name Jack Allen General Manager of KMFA at its May 24th meeting. We are delighted to have the benefit of Jack's experience, taste and energy and look forward to all the good things the excellent staff and Jack will accomplish together."
Allen was hired as Program Director in 2003 from Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) where he was Director of Radio and former Manager of the nationally syndicated Classical 24 radio service. Since his arrival at KMFA, Jack Allen has led a team in crafting a new, more consistent and accessible sound for the station and creating the first ever KMFA Music Director position.
Jack Allen comments, "KMFA is just one of a handful of all classical, listener supported stations remaining in the U.S. today.
